The challenge

L Bulmer & Co Earthmoving required the detailed engineering design of a new industrial subdivision at the intersection of Polo Road and the Leichhardt Highway in Goondiwindi.

The approved development involves reconfiguring Lot 2 on SP119663 into 29 industrial lots, together with new road reserves and the supporting infrastructure needed to service the development. The site’s location required the design to address internal access, connections to the surrounding road network, stormwater management, water supply and the requirements associated with infrastructure adjoining the Leichhardt Highway.

Our solution

Proterra Group coordinated and delivered the detailed civil engineering design for the subdivision. The design scope included survey, traffic planning, stormwater management, water-reticulation modelling, pavement design and the preparation of detailed engineering drawings.

The resulting civil works documentation addressed:

  • Internal roads and intersection layouts
  • Pavement construction
  • Stormwater drainage and culverts
  • Water-reticulation infrastructure

Proterra Group has also provided engineering support during construction, including design coordination, review of testing and survey information, and site inspections associated with the project’s inspection and testing requirements.

The benefit

The integrated design provides L Bulmer & Co Earthmoving with a coordinated set of engineering documents to guide construction and support the delivery of the 29-lot industrial development.

By considering roads, drainage, water infrastructure, earthworks and vehicle movements as part of one coordinated design process, the project provides a practical framework for delivering the subdivision’s essential infrastructure and connecting it to the surrounding road and service networks.

The result

The Polo Road subdivision has progressed from detailed design into civil construction. Proterra Group’s engineering documentation has supported the delivery of earthworks, road formation, drainage and associated subdivision infrastructure, with engineering coordination and inspections continuing as construction progresses.

Once completed, the development will create industrial lots supported by new internal roads, stormwater drainage, water reticulation and associated civil infrastructure.
